Steve Maidlow; Class of 1978

Steve Maidlow was born June 6, 1960 in Lansing Michigan to Ken and Nancy Maidlow. He began his football career in sixth grade by playing for the East Lansing Jr. Trojans, under Coach Art Brandstatter in the Pop Warner League. A graduate of East Lansing High School (1978), Steve participated football wrestling and track, earning 11 varsity letters. He was named All-Conference in all three sports and was noted in the Detroit Free Press as All-State and a Carnation All-America in Football.
Steve attended Michigan State University, where he earned four letters, a three year starter and a two year All-Big Ten honoree in football. He was drafted, as a linebacker, in 4th round of 1983 National League draft by Cincinnati Bengals and played for Bengals in 1983 and 1984 before playing for the Buffalo Bills from 1985 to 1987. After retiring from National Football League, Steve worked in financial services industry for 17 years.
He is currently living in Cincinnati with his wife of 31 years, Karen (Shrier) Maidlow (Class of 1979). Steve and Karen’s two sons, Andy and Matt, live in Cincinnati along with Andy’s wife, Darlene and their two granddaughters, Mikayla (5) and Natalie (4).
